Emerging Melbourne-based jewellery artist Juan Castro has shared some images from a recently styled photoshoot which featured his jewels.
We introduced Juan's work in our Near & Far exhibition in August 2017, and have been enamoured with his bold collection ever since. Employing graphic contrasting finishes and textures, his pieces command attention. This photoshoot highlights his fascination with religious iconography, and his desire to evoke beauty by reimagining fragile historical adornment in today's modern society. His beautiful works defy gender roles whilst mixing precious metals and delicate gemstones.
